I was born right here in Sacramento. I have lived here all my life, except when I went away to school. UC Davis. That usually makes people laugh, as Davis is only 13 miles from Sacramento.
I received a Bachelors of Arts in 1974, married my wife Kathryn Beltrami a short time later and started a small retail business in the then quiet town of West Sacramento. In the 1980’s Kathryn and I ran a successful downtown restaurant called The Metro. It was in an underground space and was noted for excellent food and the first stand up comedy club in Sacramento.
I started selling Real Estate for Cook Realty in 1986. That first year I received an invitation to join the Sacramento Realtors Masters Club whose membership is limited to the top 3 to 5 % of successful agents. I completed the education necessary to earn a Brokers’ License a short time later and have been affiliated with Cook Realty as a Broker Associate ever since.
We live in Curtis Park in a 1920s Tudor that sits on a large corner lot surrounded by long time neighbors. We have two children, a boy and a girl both in college.
My interests in real estate are varied. We have been landlords since we first got married and a real estate sales career seemed a natural progression. While the majority of my business is single-family homes within Sacramento County, I have also sold business opportunities, raw commercial land, residential lots and multi residential units.
The last category of real estate has been very exciting for the last 5 years, as investors have again realized the power of leveraged ownership that real estate can offer. Duplexes, fourplexes and apartment buildings have never been more desirable for investors. I can show that over the last thirty years return on investment and growth have outpaced all other forms of investment.
